Week 6 Report

ICT Survey

I have analyzed the results of the survey and am currently working on my final presentation of the process, results, and recommendations. I have developed a brief summary to be presented to CESESMA Monday, June 5. I will not attach this summary until I am able to attach the final presentation. I would prefer for viewers of this site to see all the information laid out in an organized and complete manner.

Technology Centers

I am currently researching best practices for the mobile technology center. I will spend half of my time this week dedicated to this research. I am currently pursuing the idea of centralized laptop kiosks located at primary schools in key central community villages.  I hope to maintain contact with CESESMA to see the results of these centers, especially considering that laptop use in such a manner is not very common. I will have a presentation of suggestions ready for CESESMA by Monday, June 12.

Computation Courses

I found an awesome Peruvian website that is specifically designed to teach agriculturalists basic computation and Internet use. I am planning to incorporate many aspects of this presentation into my own. I will be contacting the website over the next week to obtain permission to do so.

I am developing a PowerPoint presentation to be used in the courses. I will attach that presentation to this website within 2 weeks. I also plan to produce an instructor´s manual based on the PowerPoint presentation. In addition, I will be downloading the typing games Web of Words and Typing Tutor onto all of the laptops by the end of this week. I will dedicate half of my time to designing these courses this week.

UCA-SR

I have had no contact with the UCA this week, as I have been on vacation until Thursday and have not been able to reconnect with them yet. Considering my time limitations, I plan to finish my work with the UCA by directing them to an excellent Spanish-language Dreamweaver tutorial on the Internet.
